CXRO operates a number of facilities in support of its mission.

  • Beamlines and endstations exploit the bright x-ray radiation produced by the Advanced Light Source to investigate properties of materials and optics a short wavelengths.
  • Laboratories provide further characterization and manufacturing support for optics on the nanometer scale, and coatings for mirrors and other components.
  • Departments and Services provide crucial coordination and support for the experimental stations. The uniquely collaborative nature of CXRO stems from the ability of the support departments to provide exceptional services for experimental stations both within and outside of CXRO.
